Shift4 Payments today announced that two hospitality industry veterans are joining the organization in executive-level development roles. Michael Russo will become the company’s Chief Development Officer and Daniel Drasin will join as Executive Vice President of Development. These positions will lead the Shift4 Payments development teams working on software for the company’s point-of-sale (POS) system brands, as well as other innovative technology products and internal systems.
Michael Russo has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality and healthcare technology space, building cutting-edge software products, leading agile teams, driving strategic business initiatives and developing go-to-market strategies. Prior to joining Shift4 Payments, Mr. Russo was Chief Technology Officer at MICROS Systems, Inc., a leading hospitality solutions provider that was acquired and renamed Oracle Hospitality. Throughout his career, Michael has worked with companies at all stages, including venture-backed start-ups, turnarounds and public companies.
Daniel Drasin has nearly three decades of experience leading and transforming product development organizations in the hospitality, healthcare and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining Shift4 Payments, Mr. Drasin was Vice President of Food & Beverage Development at MICROS Systems, Inc. and continued to lead the organization after it was acquired by Oracle. In this role, he was responsible for all F&B-related product development, with additional responsibilities in professional services deliveries and hardware engineering.
“We are very excited to have Michael and Daniel join the Shift4 team. They were driving forces behind the successful development of MICROS Systems for many years, and their experience in the industry will be invaluable as we continue to innovate our own POS systems and other technology solutions,” says Shift4 Payments CEO Jared Isaacman.
