Tenley Bank deepens the firm’s expertise in helping mission-driven institutions find their next leaders.

November 2, 2026 (King of Prussia, PA) – JM Search, the leading retained executive search firm for growth-oriented private and public organizations, has added Tenley Bank as Principal, strengthening the firm’s expanding Education & Social Impact Practice.

Nonprofits, foundations, and higher education institutions are in a moment of mounting strain. From funding pressure to increased public scrutiny, strong leadership is essential to ensure these institutions remain true to their mission and the communities they serve. Tenley’s arrival reflects JM Search’s deliberate commitment to meeting the growing needs of the social impact space with search partners who understand the values and culture that define these institutions.

“Mission-driven institutions can only go as far as their leaders take them, and helping them find the right ones has become a priority for our firm. Tenley’s track record and standing in this sector make her an ideal partner as we continue building this practice, and we are thrilled to welcome her to JM Search,” said John Marshall, CEO of JM Search.

“Tenley understands that institutions need leaders who respect their heritage and share their values. Her deep connection to this work will strengthen how we serve our clients and help us advance our practice. It is a privilege to have her join the firm,” said Tom Figueroa, Managing Partner at JM Search.

Based in Philadelphia, Tenley advises nonprofit, academic, and cultural institutions nationally, with particular depth in museums, foundations, and arts and heritage organizations. She undertakes each search as a long-term partnership, pairing rigorous process with genuine care for both clients and candidates, an approach that has earned her a wide network of leaders across the sector.

Prior to joining JM Search, Tenley spent over six years with DSG Global’s Nonprofit and Social Impact Practice (formerly Koya Partners), where she concentrated on arts and cultural clients. Earlier in her career, she led knowledge management for Korn Ferry’s Global Higher Education Practice. At JM Search, she will help expand the firm’s social impact work alongside Principal Lionel Anderson, who has pioneered it at the firm.

“Over the last five years, JM Search has been unequivocal in its commitment to this discipline of work. Civic sector recruitments serve to bind society together. The leaders we pursue and the organizations we advise endeavor to increase the dignity with which people live, learn, and raise families; as well as expand capacity for each and every one of us to answer the most urgent questions of our day surrounding climate, food insecurity, health equity, housing, immigration reform, reproductive freedom, workforce training, and so much more. JM Search will continue to do its part in identifying the next generation of problem solvers at the vanguard. And we have every confidence that Tenley will enhance the mastery, dexterity, and level of care that we extend to those with whom we partner,” said Lionel Anderson.

“Lionel has laid the groundwork for a practice built on lasting trust in this sector. My approach has always been about a process that’s as rigorous as it is inclusive, tailored to each client’s mission and community, and I look forward to bringing that to nonprofits, foundations, and academic institutions at this important moment for the field,” said Tenley Bank.
