James Gates

James Gates is a Partner at JM Search and a member of the Firm’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice. He brings nearly 20 years of business and executive search experience along with a former background in the healthcare and B2B SaaS technology sectors.

Prior to his executive search career, James helped launch former Silicon Valley-based tech startup FotoIN, the leading SaaS mobile endpoint for business photo documentation and reporting. Serving as Chief Operating Officer, he took the company from beta to revenue in 18 months by driving target market adoption and establishing channel partnerships with some of the best-known cloud storage businesses. Prior to FotoIN, he spent several years in healthcare with a nationally known provider.

James attended the J.B. Fuqua School in Farmville, Virginia, and has served as its commencement speaker. He earned his graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia, where he played on the lacrosse team. James was also selected for the University of Georgia Alumni Association’s “40 Under 40” recognizing distinguished young alumni. He is active with Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School in Atlanta having served on its board and strategic planning committee.
