Joe Gartland

Joe Gartland is a Principal at JM Search and a member of the firm’s Services Practice. He partners with private equity sponsors and their management teams, as well as public and private boards, to identify and recruit executive talent, with a particular focus on transportation, logistics, & services businesses.

Prior to JM Search, Joe was a Principal at ON Partners; a retained executive search firm focused on growth and private equity-backed clients. During his tenure, he led retained searches across private, growth-stage and private equity-backed companies in T&L, services, and supporting software and technologies. He successfully placed executives across the C-suite for a variety of clients including large cap publicly traded and growth-staged investor-backed businesses.  Earlier in his career, Joe was a competitive rowing coach at both the collegiate and club levels. He served as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Princeton University men’s rowing team, where his crew won the IRA National Championship.

Joe holds a B.S. in Corporate Communications from Boston University, where he was a member of the men’s rowing team. Outside of work, he enjoys supporting Boston sports teams and perfecting his at-home culinary skills.
