John van Berkum

John van Berkum is a Principal in JM Search’s Technology Practice and a member of the firm’s GTM Center of Excellence. He brings more than 25 years of experience as a technology executive, GTM operator, and search partner, specializing in recruiting senior leaders across revenue, customer success, professional services, and RevOps/GTM operations for PE and growth-backed B2B enterprise companies.​

Before JM Search, John was an Enterprise GTM Partner at True Search, completing 50+ executive searches across SaaS, cloud infrastructure, AI/ML, analytics, cybersecurity, fintech, and public sector/SLED. Previously, he led Worldwide Customer Success for VMware’s Multi-Cloud business and held multiple global leadership roles at Amazon Web Services, where he launched and scaled the Global Accounts Industry Verticals organization to multi-billion-dollar ARR. Earlier, he led engineering, architecture, DevOps, and payments integration teams at Bank of America after starting his career in professional services at Brigade Solutions.​

John holds a BA in Communications from California State University, Chico, and is an AWS Certified Cloud Solutions Architect. Outside of work, he enjoys roasting coffee, mountain biking, photography, and live music.
