Scott Gunther

Scott is a Partner a JM Search and a member of the Firm’s Distribution and Services Practice. He primarily works with private equity sponsors to identify executive talent for their portfolio companies with a particular focus on distribution and service businesses. Scott has successfully executed searches across the C-suite for businesses at a variety of inflections points, including early stage buy-and-builds, scaling platforms, and turnarounds.

Prior to joining JM Search, Scott was a consultant at Notch Partners, a specialized deal-enabling private equity consulting firm. Notch Partners is retained exclusively by private equity buyout funds to help them form relationships with senior executives who can potentially serve in an advisory capacity at the firm or their portfolio companies. Before Notch, Scott was an associate on Gerson Lehrman Group’s (GLG) Private Equity Team. While at GLG, he spent time co-managing some of GLG’s private equity relationships and assisting in new business development.

Scott joined JM Search in 2014 in New York and currently lives with his family in Washington, D.C. Scott has a BA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
