Thanh Nguyen

Thanh is a Partner at JM Search and a member of the firm’s Legal Practice. She specializes in helping companies build high-performing legal departments by recruiting General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officers, and senior legal and compliance executives across public and private companies, in addition to law firm associate and partner placements. With more than 20 years of experience spanning business, law, compliance, and executive search, Thanh brings a unique combination of experience as a practicing attorney, in-house legal executive, and trusted advisor to organizations navigating complex legal and regulatory environments.

Prior to joining JM Search, Thanh spent five years as a Managing Director in the In-House Counsel Recruiting Group at Major, Lindsey & Africa, where she led business development and end-to-end search execution for clients across a range of industries, including consumer products, renewable energy, sports and entertainment, technology, crypto, international trade, and healthcare/life sciences. Earlier in her career, Thanh spent a decade practicing law, including serving as an executive Legal Director at PepsiCo, Inc. She began her legal career at Clifford Chance US LLP and Latham & Watkins, where she represented multinational clients in complex litigation and FCPA internal investigations. Before becoming an attorney, Thanh held leadership roles overseeing sales, shipping, and import/export compliance teams at McMaster-Carr Supply Company.

Thanh earned her J.D. with honors from The George Washington University Law School and her B.A. in History, cum laude, from Northwestern University. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and is a proud mother of three. Most recently, Thanh completed a year-long, around-the-world travel sabbatical with her family, living in 12 countries across Asia, Europe, and South America.
