The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is increasingly one of the most impactful value-creation positions in a private equity-backed company. A “superstar” CRO is hard to come by, but their impact on the exit valuation is incredible.
Dan Kielar, Partner at JM Search recently interviewed a number of private equity CEO’s and Board members (Jim Whitehurst, Tracy Keough, Kim Eaton, Ed Jennings, Scott Ernst and Ned Leutz) on what makes a “superstar” CRO. According to them, it’s a multi-dimensional role and not just about driving a sales team to hit quarterly revenue targets.
