Rebecca Baker brings three decades of brand, marketing and communications leadership to growth-oriented professional services firms. As a trusted advisor and marketing thought leader, since 2016 she has been advising entrepreneurs and C-Suite executives and investors on strategic initiatives that drive brand awareness, client stewardship and business growth. Rebecca has been serving as a member of the Board of Advisors at JM Search since 2018.
Prior to private practice, Rebecca spent 14 years as the Global Chief Marketing Officer and a partner at Alvarez & Marsal. She built and nurtured the firm’s global brand during a period of dramatic growth and international expansion. During her leadership, A&M went from being a US-based corporate restructuring boutique to a globally recognized choice in turnaround management in addition to operational, strategic and business advisory services.
Prior to A&M, Rebecca served in regional, national and global marketing and communications roles at: Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), technology consulting and services; Ernst & Young (EY), tax, audit and consulting (Southern New England); JHE, non-profit long term healthcare (CT); Goldweitz & Company, real estate development and investment (Boston, MA); Pfizer, Inc. (Howmedica Division, NY); Martin Marietta Data Systems (now Lockheed Martin, NY). Earlier, Rebecca was a founding principal of Baker & Company (Boston, MA). She began her career as a public high school English teacher in New York City.
Rebecca is a frequent speaker on professional services marketing and women’s leadership. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Queens College in the City of New York. She and her husband, Dan, a non-profit management and fund raising consultant, live in Manhattan. Rebecca loves exploring diverse cultures and people through travel, food, reading, music, and sharing stories. She enjoys cycling in Riverside Park with Dan, and being with their family and friends.
